DESCRIPTION:Lighthouse Ministries’ Affordable Christmas program is for families in the southeast neighborhood of Canton surrounding the Lighthouse. In purchasing presents for kids\, the real gift you are offering is dignity for a parent to provide for their children. The presents you purchase will be sold at an affordable price in a “store” run by the Lighthouse. The purpose is to support and empower neighborhood parents in their roles as provider and caregiver for their children. The lists of gifts you see on the board in the church lobby were generated by responses to surveys that were distributed to parents and caregivers of the children who use the Lighthouse services. Affordable means that gifts will be marked down at least 25% off of the purchase price. All gifts should be returned UNWRAPPED with the purchase price listed somewhere on the packaging by Wednesday\, December 4. During the event\, under-employed families are invited to purchase new\, unused gifts at a fraction of their original prices. The event is at GentleBrook Event Center on Saturday\, December 14\, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (https://www.loveourcommunity.net/loc-christmas).  Maple Grove is participating in the event with a giving tree. Please see the tree in the church lobby with tags that have gift ideas and price ranges. You may take as many of the tags as you want and bring the gifts back to the church\, UNWRAPPED\, by Sunday\, December 8.  Please tape the tag on the gift. They will have time to play\, watch a movie and have popcorn.\n– Kids grades 1-8 (Kids’ Club and Jr. Youth)\, will be eating supper at church from 6-6:30 p.m. and promptly leaving at 6:30 for Glazed and Amused in North Canton to paint pottery.  Please send $8 with your child for this activity.  We will return to the church by the end of midweek class.\n– Youth Group will be playing Bible Jeopardy. The Jr. Youth group (grades 5-8) has the option of going with Kids’ Club to Glazed and Amused\, or doing Bible Jeopardy with the Youth Group.

DESCRIPTION:As a community of faith\, we know that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38).  We also know from Scripture and experience that it is through difficult times\, not the easy times\, that we find out who we are and whose we are.  Such are the times we find ourselves in today.  \nWe the members of the Ministry of Congregational Care have determined that for at least the next two Sundays (March 15 and 22) we encourage the church to be the church all week\, and to worship at home while watching our video feed.  There will be no Sunday morning gathering at the Maple Grove church facility\, but our live video of our worship will be available here.
